Alas, as the Good Book says, there is a time and place for all things under heaven.  And so it was this past Friday night, August 10, that after 397 days as the undisputed Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion, I was dethroned by “Kid Fury” Timmy Force in Stockholm, Sweden in a 30-minute Iron Man match with a final score of 4-3 as the time ran out.

I make no excuses and place no complaints.  The better man won that night.  Timmy brought his A-game to the show and he managed to survive at the end just as I was about to tie the match at 4-4, which would have made the bout a draw.  I spike piledrove Timmy in the final 15-seconds of the outing, after which he managed to roll out of the ring to the floor so I had to waste precious time in retrieving him and rolling him back into the ring to make the elusive pinfall to even the score.  But it was not to be.  The time simply ran out.

Once again, I have to say that the Swedish crowd is one of the most hostile, anti-conservative, liberal-minded, hipster audiences that I have ever worked in front of.  They absolutely hated me.  That said, they got more than their emotional satisfaction’s worth when Timmy was declared the winner and new Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion.

There’s only one thing that young “Kid Fury” needs to know, and that is the fact that the only place to go from the top is down.  I’ve climbed back up the mountain so many times in my long wrestling career that it’s already a familiar path for me.  I know how the ball bounces and how to reclaim former glories.  In so saying, Timmy, you had better enjoy your day in the sun, ‘cos this old warhorse is back on the hunt and trust me as I tell you: your days as Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion are numbered.

And I’m the one that has your number.

Over the past year or so I have mulled over possibly starting my very own service revolving around pro wresting.  This summer, I decided to go for broke, as they say, and launch SLAM! Wrestling Finland.

SLAM! Wrestling Finland banner

SLAM! is an on-demand service that offers the client buying the show to choose the kinds of wrestlers that they’d want to see at their event.  Be it the muscular beefcake, the monsterous leviathan, the high-flier, female wrestlers, whatever it may be, we SLAM! Wrestling Finland supplies that demand and need.

The client also gets to decide what types of matches they want to see and host: singles matches, championship matches, tag team matches, Triple Threat matches, etc.  Plus, the client decides how many matches in total they wish to have at their event.

This approach to professional wrestling is revolutionary and I believe it offers people something completely outside the box.  Take a look at the just-released Story Behind SLAM! video below to get depth into the saga leading up to this venture:

Also be sure to take a look at our promotional trailer detailing the offering made possible through SLAM! Wrestling Finland:

The unique thing about SLAM! Wrestling Finland is that it puts the power into the client’s hands.  The client becomes the promoter and is able to get exactly the kind of product that they want for their money.

With my 25-years in the pro wrestling industry worldwide, I can get you, as the client, any kind of wrestler that you would like (outside of WWE, the talents of which are exclusively bound to only work for WWE).  You set the budget, we supply the line-up.  It’s as simple as that.

Clients can choose from attractive top European female wrestlers like Betty Rose from Sweden (left) or Shanna of Portugal (right), or monster men like Tiny Iron, who is a former bodyguard of popular musical artists such as The Black-Eyed Peas, Beyoncé and 50 Cent!

This upcoming Friday night, July 27 in the dead heart of Finnish summer, I will be taking on the challenge of not just one, but two opponents, at the same time in an FCF Championship Triple Threat match at Ropecon 2018 in Helsinki.

For those of you who don’t know, Ropecon is Finland’s largest annual role-playing and gaming convention, held at Helsinki’s Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre.  It’s attended by tens of thousands of folks over the weekend in question.  For the third time, FCF Wrestling will be a part of Ropecon once again this year.

Ropecon 2018 Triple Threat

In the main event of FCF Sideshow: Ropecon Edition, I will be putting my prestigious FCF Championship title on the line against both #1 contender Stark Adder and #2 contender Salomon Strid in a Triple Threat bout.  That, of course, means that it’s every man for themselves, everyone against everyone simultaneously, and whoever gets the pin or submission walks out of Ropecon with the FCF title.

FCF title challengers summer 2018.jpg

Now, I’ve faced Salomon Strid and Stark Adder many times in the past.  They are no strangers to this time-tested dog of war.  But regardless, I have never faced both veterans at the same time.  This is the key factor in this match.  Both guys are hungry, both are former FCF champions and both want that title back again around their own waists.  If ever, now is the time that I’ll have to be slick and sly as I attempt to navigate successfully through these shark-infested waters on July 27.

What you have in this match are three of the very best wrestlers in all of Finland today.  You have the cream of the crop.  It could be anyone’s ballgame.

Be there, July 27, next Friday, with a start time of 20:00.

Does that headline ring a bell? Maybe a reminiscent throwback to the first half of the 2000s and a certain black athlete named Booker T in WWE?

What Booker Huffman – wrestling name Booker T – was referring to in his promos, where he would spout off on the stick about this very slogan, was his five reigns as pro wrestling world champion.

Well, after last night at Finland’s biggest annual pro wrestling mega-gala, Talvisota XII, I can claim the same thing. Five time! Five time! Five time! Yes, last night, I became FCF wrestling champion for the fifth time in my long and storied wrestling career, defeating a very game titleholder in a man I despise, yet respect after this war, Juhana “King Kong” Karhula.

_MAR0916_preview
In a Finnish grappling epic for the ages, lasting 25:35, this monumental main event last night was laced in tension, drama and malicious intent. Karhula had stated prior to our showdown that he couldn’t foresee the both of us continuing with FCF Wrestling after this title-vs-title war, where I put my Valhalla Nordic wrestling championship up against his FCF wrestling championship.

Well, once the dust had settled and my hand was raised triumphantly in victory, yet again showcasing that no one can survive my jumping spike piledriver, Karhula had to back up his words. He bowed out, left his boots in the ring and called it a day.

_MAR1201_preview

Well, good riddance, say I. We’ve had our differences over the past years, escalating in the grand finale that we fought last night before a sold-out house, packed with rabid, impassioned wrestling aficionados. That said, our differences are the type that can’t be resolved, and in this light, I bid Karhula adieu, sans any bells or whistles. Sayonara!

I’ll give the man credit, though, as I believe you must always give credit where credit is due: Karhula fought like his life depended on it. And his professional life, at the very least, most certainly did depend on the outcome of this match.

_MAR1158_preview

I’ve been in countless wars over my near-24 year pro career, and this was one of those matches that’ll stand out in my memories when I tell my grandchildren one day about the monolithic Nordic battles of lore that their grandfather once fought as the greatest, most celebrated professional wrestler in history out of northern Europe. A man who would even make his Viking ancestors proud.

So shout it out with me: Five time! Five time! Five time!

I hate to be the one who told you so, and not that I want to toot my own horn, but TOOT, TOOT!

Bow to the new KING, because the ascension has now taken place!

Well, ladies and gents, it seems that 2017 is turning out to be one of my better years in the wrestling game.

Firstly, my long-awaited autobiography Battleground Vahalla came out through Crowbar Press, and it has since been released on Kindle also!  This book has been selling great, and I am stoked about its success!

Shawn Khan Battleground Valhalla StarBuck

Shawn Khan, the Director of the Middle East and USA for Pro Wrestling Entertainment Pakistan, whom I wrestled for in May of this year, mugs with my autobiography!

Whereas this summer, I became the first-ever Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion, a title covering four Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark), I also find myself as the number one contender for the Finnish FCF Wrestling championship title, with a title shot pending and upcoming on December 2 against current FCF titleholder Juhana “King Kong” Karhula at the biggest annual event in Finnish pro wrestling, Talvisota XII.

As of late this autumn, I’ve traveled on several occasions to Germany to wrestle, doing very well for myself there against the top European competition, against the likes of Pascal Spalter of Germany and James Mason of England.  Just this past weekend, I toppled Native American superstar and former WWE name Tatanka in Delmenhorst, Germany.

StarBuck vs. James Mason POW Germany

I had one hell of a technical match in Hannover, Germany on October 14 against POW Intercontinental champion James Mason.

On November 11, I will travel to Wittorf, Germany to wrestle a mammoth of a man in Voodoo from the UK at DWA Harley Night XVII, and on November 25, I travel to Moscow, Russia to fight at Wrestliada 2017, which is the biggest Russian pro wrestling event of the year on an annual basis.

In addition, I have some marquee gigs with my band Stoner Kings coming up on November 17 in Helsinki in support of Swedish heavy rock powerhouse Sparzanza at Nosturi’s Alakerta venue and on November 18 in Tallinn, Estonia at Rockstars, where Stoner Kings will be joined by Redneck Rampage from Estonia and Hold from Finland.

Right now, I am in the studio with both my Stoner Kings and Crossfyre bands, as we have new music coming out at the end of this year also!

In closing, get this: the It Came From The Desert movie (based on the famous 1989 Amiga video game) that I play a key role in has now been sold worldwide, as far as Japan!  Add to that the fact that Finland’s first-ever superhero action movie Rendel has been scooping up tons of international acclaim and licenses, and I’d feel comfortable saying the snowball of momentum is super-hot right now!

Stay tuned, more infos coming soon!

Big news!  As the newly appointed interim Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion, my first title defense has now been set for July 8 in Stockholm, Sweden!

I will be defending the new belt against the challenge of fast-rising young Swedish star, Timmy “Kid Fury” Force.

TIMMY-FORCE

I recall back a few years ago in Denmark, when I was coaching the DPW Fake or Break summer camp in 2014, young Timmy was a part of the student body on hand.  I noted his skill and natural aptitude even back then, believing that one day, he would be a star.

Alas, come 2017, Timmy Force has risen to the upper tier of Swedish pro wrestling, even recently holing a couple of different Swedish championship titles as recently as this year.  The host promotion of the inaugural Nordic Championship title showdown, STHLM Wrestling, gave Swedish fans the chance to vote for which Swedish wrestler they would like to see challenge for my newly assigned Valhalla Nordic title, and Timmy came out on top in the public fan voting.

Now, on July 8, at Arenavägen 75 in Stockholm, Timmy Force faces the toughest opponent of his young life.  He faces Yours Truly, the champion himself, the most successful professional wrestler in history in all of Nordic history, beyond any shadow of a doubt.

July 8 will be history in the making, folks.  Make plans to be there (tickets available HERE), as the best wrestlers from all around Scandinavia and the Nordics will be on hand, representing their home promotions and countries.

Nordic Wrestling Championship

This past weekend, some major developments were made over in Sweden, where the brass of STHLM Wrestling, along with European pop rock legend, Samantha Fox, came together to name Yours Truly as the interim Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion!

samantha-fox-starbuck

Samantha Fox vouches for StarBuck also!

I have to mention here, that when I was in my early-20’s, I had a large poster of Samantha Fox adorning my wall, much like many other strapping young lads at the time.  She was the quintessential blonde babe and sex symbol of the 1980s before Pamela Anderson rolled into the picture and Baywatch caught on.  Below is a pic of the poster I just mentioned, as I stumbled on this online.  It’s one of her most popular poses and pics.

Samantha_Fox

And here is one of her most popular – if not THE most popular – song that Samantha Fox ever released…

I am the first titleholder of this new Nordic championship, and the decision to crown me was based simply on my longevity and standing as the most successful and acclaimed professional wrestler in history out of Northern Europe.

On July 8 in Stockholm, wrestlers from Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden will ascend upon the capital to do warfare and when the dust settles, the undisputed Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion will rise.  Trust me, I heartily plan on that man being me.  “The Rebel” StarBuck.

A bevy of Nordic wrestling promotions are all sending their top guns to the event on July 8: Norway’s NWF, Halmstad Wrestling out of Sweden, GBG Wrestling out of Sweden, SWS Wrestling out of Sweden, Bodyslam Pro Wrestling out of Denmark, DPW out of Denmark, FCF Wrestling out of Finland, in addition to STHLM Wrestling, the host organization, will have their best wrestlers present to compete at this mega-event.

Nordic Wrestling Championship

Me personally, I find it somewhat peculiar, that my autobiography about my life in pro wrestling, Battleground Valhalla, came out just a week ago, and now, one week later, the Nordic Wrestling Championship is bestowed upon me.

The Nordic Wrestling Championship is sponsored by Valhalla herb liquor, which is produced by Finnish alcohol manufacturer, Koskenkorva.  Kudos to the Finns for dipping their proverbial oar in the great cauldron that is professional wrestling – the Sport of Kings and the King of Sports!

Now, bow to the new King – the “God of Northern European Wrestling”, like Yoshihiro Tajiri coined me in Japan … “The Rebel” StarBuck, your new interim Valhalla Nordic Wrestling Champion!
