It’s rather peculiar that I wrestled at a Pride event yesterday.  A Cro-magnon, retrosexual, hetero heel, the worst possible prototype villain of the queer culture, wrestling at Eurogames.  Held in downtown Helsinki under the blazing hot summer sun, Eurogames was an LGBT event, which expressly wanted to see “The Rebel” StarBuck vs. Jessica Love center stage, stemming from the hype surrounding my Spandex Sapiens movie in Finnkino theaters currently.

As most all of you should know by know, Jessica Love is Europe’s only transgender female pro wrestler.  In the Spandex Sapiens movie, Jessica Love plays my worst adversary, especially from the point of values and societal values.  We are polar opposites, like east and west.  Jessica is the all-allowing liberal modern-day representative, whereas I am the conservative caveman who holds on to black and white principles and ideals.

Well, wrestle I did.  And not just wrestle.  I used the opportunity presented to make some of the most poignant social comments to be heard publicly in today’s suffocating, politically correct environment.  I let loose and let it be known, that the men these days are no longer men, nor are the women any longer women.  They are confused.  Not just gender-confused, I mean confused in general.  The statistics prove it!  Look at the depression in our society.  Look at the kids, how lost they are in terms of their own identities.  Look at the mass divorce rates and the ever-growing numbers of single moms.  I made my point loud and clear, and the Pride-friendly crowd on hand did NOT like it one single bit.

Yet, it was hard to refute what I had to say.  I heard boos, sure.  But not the kind of heart-felt boos that come from disdain and spite.  They were moreso boos that towed the political line of the day, trained monkey kinds of boos.  I believe people in their hearts knew, that I was telling the truth.  It gets harder to hate a person when they tell you the truth and the truth is simply inconvenient for you.

So there I was, taking bullets in the chest and in the back for every traditional, hetero person out there, who does not have the spine or the balls to stand up for what they believe in.  I went head-long into battle, alone!  I sent out a load of emails prior to Eurogames, urging traditional, conservative folks and organizations of that ilk to come out and support me, “The Rebel” StarBuck, as I duked it out with Jessica Love in front of the entire LGBT community in Helsinki at this Eurogames Pride event.  Guess what?  NO ONE dared to show up.  Not one, single group or backer of the traditional nuclear family unit showed up to support StarBuck.  For this, the entire traditional, conservative front in Finland should hang their heads in shame!

I went into that match yesterday with Jessica Love a one-man army.  A legend in my lifetime.  A man who stood, where no others dared to stand.  A lone wolf in a strange land.  And I destroyed Jessica Love!  I broke Jessica Love’s arm in the process.  Boo-hoo.  I made a statement, because extreme times call for extreme measures.  You are going to remember my name!  StarBuck.  Get it right.  It has nothing to do with coffee.

Jessica Love got to take a trip to the hospital after our match and all of a sudden, the LGBT crowd had lost their hero.  Now they had a real reason to hate me.  But as the saying goes, the best direction to ride a horse is in the direction that it is already headed.  Haters are going to hate anyway.  Give them their anti-hero.  Give them what they deserve.

Jessica Love was scheduled to face me a second time in the main event of the Eurogames wrestling program later yesterday night.  Well, there was no Jessica Love in sight, so out comes King Kong Karhula, defending his friend.  This, in and of itself, has more to it than can be seen at surface value.  Karhula recently wrote a blog of his own about his friendship with Jessica, telling of how close they are and have been for many years, even when they were feuding.  In the pro wrestling business, that is called breaking kayfabe, and it is considered a cardinal sin.  Karhula not only pissed all over the traditions of our business and age-old tradition, he conveniently went “into business for himself”, trying to push Jessica’s starpower in my Spandex Sapiens movie through aligning himself at this time with my transgender foe.  I saw it as shameless mooching on Karhula’s part, reeking of desperation to get his own rub off the whole shebang.

Be that as it may, since Jessica Love could not wrestle with a freshly-broken arm, in comes Karhula to take Jessica’s place in the main event against Yours Truly!  Toting a gay pride flag on his way to the ring, I really wondered where Karhula’s true feelings and allegiances lay.  I found it both amusing and pathetic.  But I will say this: Juhana Karhula came to fight.  He was incensed, full of piss and vinegar.  He attacked me with the kind of emotion that is rarely felt, and the people on hand felt it too.  The heat was off the charts.  Karhula was a man possessed, tearing into me as we brawled, before I could turn the match in my favor and run him head-first into the ring post.

My wife Diana happened to be at ringside with her new camera, taking pics:

I was able to find one single sympathizer to the traditional, conservative family cause, and that was FCF Wrestling’s Teuvo.  Although he’s a beer-swigging hick, Teuvo is a man of principle.  He still believes in black and white, too.  So I had him come out with a Straight Pride sign and act as my one, single backer at this LGBT Eurogames event.  Teuvo even got in some kicks of his own on Karhula, once I left him laying at ringside.

I blasted Karhula with all I had, having a hell of a time doing it, too!  The crowd was irate and hot as hell.  I hammered Karhula until we both got knocked down center-ring.  Karhula had that entire Eurogames crowd behind him, as he rallied a comeback against me.  Teuvo made his presence known at the most-critical moment, blasting Karhula with an open beer can in the face, allowing me to capitalize on Karhula’s misstep and roll him up for the pin and win.  Sure, he got up and dropped both Teuvo and I with a Death Valley Driver afterwards, but my win was already in the history books, right in front of the most antagonistic crowd that I could ever imagine wrestling in front of.

My main event win was not only a win for StarBuck, it was a win for the entire Straight Pride cause.  Where no one has the guts to stand up and make some noise for what they really believe in, should it deter from the ruling PC thought of the day, because they fear public sentiment and others’ public opinions so much, one man took the bull by the horns and led the charge.  The man that took the bullets and arrows for everyone else, for those who didn’t have the guts to stand when called upon, that man stood tall in the end.  Isn’t that what an anti-hero is?  It sure as hell is in my book.

On the 28th of May, I returned to Russia, my 20th country in pro wrestling, to face “Big Sexy Papa” Ruslan in a No-DQ rematch from our February showdown for IWF this year in Moscow.  In our first bout against one another, Ruslan not only got beaten good and proper by Yours Truly, he also suffered a concussion during our match.

This time around, Ruslan had three months to get into shape and man-up, since he wanted some retribution on me, especially after I took his girl, Nadja, for a twirl after it was all said and done and he was left laying in defeat.

A week ago, I had Ruslan battered and bloody, administering a whooping to remember, when all of a sudden, his girl Nadja got up all panicked and whimpering on the ring apron.  I have to admit, that my concentration was thrown for a loop, because I had no idea what she had in mind.  I got up in her grill and had a few choice words with her when she suddenly slapped me out of the blue!  In my flustered response, I stumbled backward, allowing Ruslan to cradle my very sweaty body with a schoolboy pin for the surprise victory!

I simply couldn’t believe what had happened!  Ruslan was down for the count, all but left for dead, and suddenly a timely assist from his girlfriend saved his hide.  Well, you can bet your wrestling-loving arse, that I’m not going to let this one rest.  I have challenged “Big Sexy Papa” one more time, to a Hardcore match, if he has the balls to accept!

As we wait for the verdict, here is a stellar gallery of photos from our latest encounter…

Wow!  How did this come about?!  Like the title reads, Finland beat Russia via Estonia, or should I say, an “assist” from Miss Estonia, in yesterday’s monumental and historic Finland vs. Russia encounter in Helsinki at Snacky Slam between myself and Ivan Markov.

Russia’s premiere wrestler and former 3-time Russian champion Ivan “Locomotive” Markov brought his wife Natalia along as his flagbearer and second at ringside, so the Snacky promoter decided to even the odds by putting Miss Estonia, Kristina Karjalainen, in my corner as both a second at ringside and as the Finnish flagbearer.

Natalia Markov interfered and got involved in our match on several occasions, just as I was about to turn the tide against her husband, Ivan.  Again and again, I was thwarted by Natalia’s timely interference in this No-DQ/No-countout match.  It looked like the odds were stacked against me until Miss Estonia decided to do something.  Well, actually, she did something twice.

When Natalia raked my face with her nails as I was beating down a hailstorm of fists on the head of her man, Kristina Karjalainen took to the fore and got right up in Mrs. Markov’s grill.  A hellacious catfight broke loose, with both women looking to tear the hair out of each other’s scalps, before the referee finally separated the women.

After Ivan had jump-started the match by attacking me with his Russian flagpole before the bell, I had to fight for my life in the underdog role, as he poured the heat on heavy.  The match was very physical, with big bombs being thrown to and fro, back and forth, before Miss Estonia finally turned the tide of this new Cold War.

Getting up on the ring apron, Kristina removed the robe she had on and got Ivan’s attention from the ring apron.  Ivan and everyone else stood in shock as Miss Estonia did a flirtatious little thing of her own in front of the former Russian champion, and as he turned back around, I was able to hit him with a superkick to the face.  I was so wasted by this point that Markov didn’t go down and he tried one last rally, which I thwarted, hitting him with another superkick, which set him up directly for my world-famous finisher, the spike piledriver.

The referee counted the academic pinfall as Natalia watched on from the ring apron in disbelief, urging her man to kick out.  He did not, however.  The match was over after 15-minutes of slobberknocking action.  It was one of the greatest victories of my professional life, as I was able to stand with my fellow countrymen and put down the Russian Locomotive in our nation’s capital.

Finland’s top newspaper Helsingin Sanomat ran a full front page advert about the Snacky Slam event on the day of the event and I was called by the country’s number one rock radio station, Radio Rock, for a quick pre-match interview one hour before showtime.

Finland has a good reason to be proud this weekend, as the jubilation of the live audience on hand was tremendous when Ivan Markov was put down for the 1-2-3. Thanks to Snacky and to everyone that came out to see history in the making yesterday in Helsinki at Snacky Slam!

I will be making my first trip to Russia to be part of the fight game next week, only this time it’s not pro wrestling, it’ll be MMA.  And no, I won’t be fighting myself.  I will be the guest ring announcer for the M1 Challenge 54 event in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, December 17.

The last time I did ring announcing, it was back in the early part of 2010, as the M1 Semi-Finals came to Helsinki.  Four and a half years later, M1 and Yours Truly tag up again, and I am excited to be a part of this huge event in Russia!

I just came home last night from a tremendous few days in Tokyo, where this past Thursday night, February 27, I defeated my long-time nemesis “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Yoshihiro Tajiri for the WNC (Wrestling New Classic) championship title.

StarBuck WNC photo 01

Our match was grueling and hard, as Tajiri laid his kicks into me so hard that I thought I was a soccer ball.  He went after my arm, the psychology of which I only understood later on in the match when I attempted to first hoist Tajiri for my trademark finisher, the spike piledriver.  He was able to escape by capturing my weakened arm on the lift portion of the move, trapping me in a unique submission attempt.  I made a rope escape, and moments later, as Tajiri charged me, I caught him out with a hotshot, landing his throat on the top rope, after which I immediately captialized with a successful spike piledriver for the pinfall and victory.

This win puts good ol’ StarBuck into the wrestling history books, as the fourth WNC champion in history, behind Akira Nogami, Osamu Nishimura and Tajiri.  On a personal note, this victory was incredibly sweet for me, as I returned to Japan after a nine-month absence, during which I had to rehabilitate my herniated neck.  In my first match back to Japan since May 2013, the fans at Shinjuku Face arena in Tokyo exploded in support of Yours Truly, rallying behind with much support as I claimed the WNC title.

Tajiri and I have had our wars, and I highly respect him as one of my greatest opponents ever.  In 2010, we traded the FCF championship back and forth a couple of times.  In 2011, I defeated Tajiri in the finals of the SMASH title tournament to become the first SMASH champion.  Now, in 2014, I was able to go over Tajiri to claim the WNC championship.

It should also be noted, that at the end of the night, after I had won the title, my Synapse teammates entered the ring and Akira Nogami took the mic, announcing that our group is disbanding and going our separate ways.  I would like to thank Akira, Syuri Kondou, Yusuke Kodama and Horizon (the latest member of Synapse) for the times that we had as a unit.  I never fought alongside Kodama or Horizon, as they joined the team after my last tour of Japan in May 2013, prior to my return now this past week, but with Akira and Syuri I team on numerous occasions.  We were a dominant in 2012-2013, but all good things must come to an end, and so it is with the tale of Synapse.  No bad blood, no remorse, no regrets.  A friendly parting, with mutual respect displayed by all.

Now, this coming Saturday at Winter War VIII (Talvisota VIII) in Helsinki, Finland, the WNC organization has demanded that I defend my newly-won crown against the challenge of former European wrestling champion, Bernard Vandamme!

I already have a gruelling Stretcher Match against Valentine for the BWA title, and with my wife’s valet career riding on the line, so this new development means double duty for me on the night of March 8 in Helsinki!

I will have to be training like an animal all this week to get ready for the double-edged sword that awaits me.  You can be sure that Vandamme remembers 2006, when I tood the Eurostars European championship from him at the first first Talvisota event in Vantaa, Finland, and this means Vandamme would be hungrier than ever to redeem himself against me now with the WNC title riding on the line.

I am not turning away any challengers, however, regardless of the circumstances.  Bernard Vandamme can bring it on, because this old war horse is waiting for him.  The Alpha Male, try to take his piece of meat away from him.TSVIII_starbuck_vandamme

This coming Saturday night in Helsinki, Finland, FCF Wrestling celebrates the eighth annual installment of Winter War, Talvisota VIII, which will be held at Sokos Hotel Presidentti.

Talvisota VIII is a monumental card, headlined by FCF champion Tuho Torvinen defending his prestigious title against the challenge of “Wildman” Heimo Ukonselkä and Finland’s very first Stretcher Match, featuring myself against the villainous Valentine.

TSVIII_StarBuck_vs_Valentine

Now, personally speaking, I have long-awaited this Stretcher Match against Valentine.  In fact, I was the one who initially demanded that the match take place, due to the fact that Valentine assaulted my wife almost one year ago in March 2013.  I certainly cannot live that moment down, and the scars still remain.

The fact that Valentine did not only assault my wife one single time, but repeated his cowardly act twice thereafter, is something that screams for retribution.  No man on this Earth worth their manhood and weight would opt to sit idly and do nothing, as their woman becomes the target of an attack.  For this sin, Valentine MUST pay.  Talvisota VIII and the Stretcher Match that he and I will do battle in is the judgement that is due to him, and I will be the judge, jury and executioner on the night of March 8 in Helsinki when the bell rings.  One of us will be carried out of that ring, laid out on a stretcher, and that means punishment in capitals!

Not only did Valentine finally “man-up” (and in his case, I use the term “man” very loosely) and accept my Stretcher Match challenge for Talvisota VIII, where I will openly put my BWA Catchweight title on the line also, but he also presented his own demand: that I put my wife’s career as my wrestling valet on the line in this match also.

Now my wife, Diana, or Miss D as she is known in wrestling circles, has certainly done nothing to provoke the kinds of attacks that she has endured, nor should she suffer the consequences of collateral damage in the issue between Valentine and myself.  Yet, it has come down to this.  I am so ready to beat Valentine into oblivion, that I accept his additional demand and stipulation regarding putting my wife’s career on the line at Talvisota VIII.  I am going to make him rue the day that he instigated what he has done to my wife.

This coming Saturday,  no wrestling fan in Finland should miss the utter destruction of Valentine that I will personally deal out in Helsinki at the biggest wrestling card of the year in this country.

As far as I am concerned, this issue ends on March 8.

This coming weekend in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, one of the most important matches in Scandinavian wrestling today will be waged between four men. The Swedish contingent of their most popular wrestler, Conny Mejsel, and his hulking partner, the young but very talented Harley Rage (what a name!), will take on Finland’s veteran duo of myself and the lightning-fast 125kg King Kong Karhula.

Now, let’s make no mistake about it: I am no friend of Karhula, nor do I want to mislead anyone into believing so. Yet, for the sake of making a heartfelt statement on Swedish soil this coming Saturday night, February 1, I wanted to bring the former FCF champion, because I can vouche for this man’s talent. I don’t have to like Karhula to do business with him, and serious business it will be in Gothenburg in just a matter of days, when he and I lay waste to the hometown favorite and his big buddy.

Conny Mesjel is someone that I have an outstanding issue with, since he first challenged me for my BWA Catchweight title back in June of last year in Helsinki. I’ve heard that he’s wanted to take me on specifically due to the fact that I am considered to be the ”Lord of Northern European Wrestling”, as they say in Japan.

I can accept that. As a matter of fact, I find that flattering to a large degree. That said, I will not refrain from beating a mudhole into Conny Mejsel and anyone else that he decides to bring with him to the dance, because he is literally asking for it!

Conny Mejsel wants to be an old school tribute, but he should realize that I am the real thing.

Conny Mejsel is going back to school this coming Saturday in Gothenburg, and his younger friend Harley Rage is going to serve hard time alongside him. Mark my words.
